On 31 March 2010, a youtuber named "0nyxheart" have created a video which is called "How 2 Draw Sanic Hegehog", which the footage is the creation of the original Sanic illustration in Microsoft Paint, there also a distorted version of Green Hill Zone playing in the background, soon. the Original video of Sanic was remove but was now reuploaded by fans. Overtime, Sanic soon grow a internet cult-following and became the 2010 meme.

As he is shown to not being stop to be running so fast. But if we take in the GMOD Nextbot version of Sanic, he is shown to be running toward the The Player before killing him.
