History[]

Created from the essence of the Life Thread, Dust was created by the fusion of two souls, the soul of the pure-of-heart Jin, and the royal assassin Cassius, who killed each other on the same day at the same time. With their souls intertwined, the Moonblood Army created a warrior that would lead their revolution against the oppressive and tyrannical General Gaius. They named him 'Sen-Mithrarin', or "he who is born of the dust".

Dust awakens in a glade with no memories before embarking on a journey with Fidget and Ahrah to discover his past, and upon learning his purpose is to confront the Warmbloods and defeat General Gaius, leads the Moonblood army to victory against Gaius, but at the cost of his own life.

Personality[]

Dust has a shy and serious disposition. This shyness may come across as stand-offish, as often pointed out by Dust’s companion Fidget. He’s quite honourable and possesses the traits of a hero. He has a good sense of right and wrong, and is willing to go through great lengths to help anyone that needs aid. Dust displays the personalities of two souls who have passed away before the events of the main story, Cassius and Jin. He possesses Cassius’ smart, tough, aggressive demeanour, feeling agitated at simple mistakes; and carries Jin’s thoughtful and kind behaviour.

Powers and Abilities[]

Dust wields the Blade of Ahrah, one of the five Blades of Elysium, which grants him exceptional swordsmanship. His sidekick, the nimbat Fidget, is the blade's caretaker, who can also cast projectiles to assist Dust in battle.

Abilities[]

Dust's most notable asset is his reflexes and duelling capabilities. Wielding the Blade of Ahrah alone grants him all the power and skill he needs.

  • Double Jump: Allows Dust to jump in midair.
  • Dodge: With a quick sidestep, Dust can avoid damage and breach an opponent's flank.
  • The Underling: Dust slides across the ground. This technique can help Dust navigate small spaces, as well as trip foes.
  • Iron Grip: Dust is able to grab onto specific vines and plants and climb them with jumps to help him reach previously inaccessible areas.

Techniques[]

  • Dust Storm: Arguably Dust's most infamous technique. He twirls the Blade of Ahrah around rapidly, creating a vacuum that traps nearby enemies, items, and projectiles. Can also be performed in the air.
  • Parry: If Dust scores a parry against an opponent, it can leave them stunned and open for a followup.
  • From Whence It Came: A standard four-combo attack consisting of a downwards slash, a crosscut, an upwards slash, then topped off with another vertical slash downwards.
  • The Undoing: While in the air, Dust will slash an opponent three times before dragging them headfirst into the ground.
  • The Fallen: While in the air, Dust slams Ahrah downwards and drags foes down to the ground with him.
  • Rising Phoenix: Dust slashes the enemy into the air. Doesn't effect heavy foes though.
  • Ash Bound: Same setup as From Whence It Came, but with two upwards slashes instead. Helps cut through a large group of enemies.

Fidget's Magic[]

  • Energy Blast: Fidget's default projectile, in which she fires a relatively weak energy ball out in front of her. Dust can utilize the Dust Storm to turn this attack into a swarm of projectiles that pursues enemies and traps them in a vortex.
  • Fireball: After defeating Fuse and studying his technique, Fidget learned how to use pyrokinesis. Dust can utilize the Dust Storm to convert her fireballs into large fiery pillars that engulf foes.
  • Thunderbolt: After defeating Lady Tethys, Fidget unlocks electrokinetic capabilities. Dust can utilize the Dust Storm to create a large electrical current that can hit enemies repeatedly.

Weaknesses[]

  • Unable to use Dust Storm for extended periods without harming himself
  • Champong and Buffalo Burger’s effects only last for 15 seconds
  • Doenjang Jjigae and Charred Galbi’s effects only last for 30 seconds
  • If Fidget’s powers are nullified, Dust loses the ability to use Fidget's magic
