History[]
Before becoming widely known as the superstrong World War II hero called Captain America, Steven Rogers was just a skinny young man. He repeatedly tried to enlist in the army, only for him to be rejected each time. Finally, Steve got his chance to be put into the army. But it was only if he allowed Dr. Abraham Erskine to test Steve with a breakthrough drug (or formula) called the super-soldier serum. This formula did wonders, turning the originally weak and frail Rogers into likely the strongest human alive. Now in the army, Steve would be given an armored uniform and a virtually indestructible shield made out of Vibranium. He was given the name “Captain America.” Captain America began fighting in World War II against the Axis Powers. He tore through enemy line after enemy line until he crashed into the frigid temperatures of the arctic. There, Cap was cryogenically frozen alive for 70 years. After waking up in the modern world of the 21st century, Captain America continued fighting for justice and truth against the deadliest of foes. He also became a founding member of the Avengers, an organization that fights for the good of others, becoming the first Avenger.
Personality[]
Captain America is one of the most righteous heroes in the entire Marvel universe. He is brave and always tries to see the good in people. Ever since he had been a hero, Captain America devoted his life to protect the weak and defend freedom. However, he suffers from his status as a “man out of time.” Cap worries that his idealism might become outdated in the modern world. Considering how idealized his legacy has become, he sometimes believes he won’t be able to fulfill the image the world has of him. Regardless of all this, Captain America is still seen as the peak of heroism; an example everyone should follow.
