History[]
The proud Dr. Tenma was one of the leading figures in the world of robotics in 2003, and helped design the world's first A.I. that could experience human-like emotion. However, he was so embroiled in his work, that he neglected his young son Tobio, until the child was kiled in a tragic accident. In a fit of grief, Tenma created an android being with Tobio's likeness and personality, as well as powerful weapons and durability to keep him safe from harm. Tenma eventually came to the realization that this new robot, dubbed "Astro Boy", would never replace Tobio; however, Astro's special A.I. and emotions granted him a dedication to fighting for justice and protecting the weak. This level of selflessness earned Dr. Tenma's love back, and Astro Boy became a figurehead for fighting not just for world peace, but equality among men and machines.
Personality[]
Astro Boy was created to replace the deceased Tobio, and has a childlike personality and curiosity. However, this comes second to his determination to save the world and help people. He will use his powers to their fullest extent to do so, from helping his father with chores, to intervening in global war; though Astro does not want to fight, he will as a last resort if intimidation and trickery do not work. Deep down, he also has a drive to make his surrogate father proud, a dream he would soon accomplish.
